Which hot jean trends suit your body type? Hanna Radzikowska, Product Development Manager for Addition Elle gives the deets on which denium styles will work best for you!

Distressed or detailed jeans are totally hot for fall 2009 and that’s awesome news for full-figured fashionistas. “Distressed effects are trendy and make an ordinary pair of jeans look sharp and edgy,” Hanna says. “Whiskers, baking and sandblast effects create an illusion of slimmer legs and hips.” So You Think You Can Dance judge, Mia Michaels nails the look with her acid-washed jeans that give her curvy hips a slimmer appearance.

Hanna says wide leg jeans are ideal for women who are fuller in the hips and thighs than anywhere else. Jennifer Lopez knows how to slim down her curvy shape with wide leg jeans that balance out her look from top to bottom. Warning! Hanna suggests petite women follow JLo’s lead and pair these jeans with high heels to avoid looking short and stout.

Our fave Hairspray actress opts for straight leg jeans over skinnies. “They are straight from the hip down, therefore, the hips are aligned with the legs, creating a slimming effect,” Hanna says. Straight leg jeans are also a classic denim cut that never go out of style. Can you say essential wardrobe staple?

If your bust and hips are both fuller areas, then you can pull off skinny jeans as long as you’re wearing the right top. “For a curvier woman, I suggest using layering. Wear longer tops or blouses; top it with a shorter vest, jacket or bolero for the best proportion,” Hanna advises. It works for Queen Latifah and it can work for you, too.

“Dark jeans, just like dark colours in general, have a slimming effect and can be easily paired with other colours,” Hanna says. “They hide imperfections, don’t show cellulite and can be worn day and night. With the right accessories, you can build a great office outfit or edgy evening attire.” Jordin achieves just that with sexy jeans that give her rounder shape a slimmer and über-sexy look.
